Michelle Lynn Monaghan, born 23rd March 1976 is an American actor. Her leading roles include Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005) and Gone Baby Gone (2008). She also appeared in for Gone Baby Gone (2008), Made of Honor (2008) and Trucker (2008). Source Code (2011), Pixels (2015) and Patriots Day (2016). She also has been recognized for her starring role as Julia Meade in the action spy film series Mission: Impossible, appearing in Mission: Impossible III (2006), Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011), and Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018).On TV, Monaghan starred as Maggie Hart in the initial season of the crime drama show True Detective (2014), for which she was awarded an award for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the drama series The Path (2016), she starred in the role as Sarah Lane. Monaghan was the main character in the 2020 Netflix thriller, Messiah. The show was cancelled after one season. Monaghan was the child of Sharon Hammel (a factory worker) in Winthrop. Bob and John are her elder brothers. Monaghan is an Catholic of Irish and German heritage and graduated from East Buchanan High School, 1994. After graduating, Monaghan moved to Chicago to study journalism before pursuing modeling. She has also modelled in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore and the United States. She quit New York for an acting career after completing her journalism degree in 1999. She worked as a model and appeared in a variety of magazines and catalogs, before making her acting debut. Monaghan's initial two television appearances, as a support role, were as Caroline Busse in episodes of Young Americans, which aired in 2000. In "Consent" Monaghan was the role of Caroline Busse. She was also a part of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in the episode. On the 19th of January 2001, she appeared in "Consent". In the same year, her major-screen debut was in Perfume in the role of Henrietta. In 2002, she appeared again in a supporting role in Unfaithful in which she starred Richard Gere & Diane Lane.
