Rita Ora, a British musician and singer. She was born Rita Sahatciu Ora in 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo, to Vera (Bajraktari) and Besnik Sahatciu. Besim Sahatciu is her granddaughter. Her family relocated to United Kingdom at age 1. Her birthplace was in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She began singing at an early age.In 2004 she appeared in the British film Spivs. She was invited to audition for Eurovision: Your Country Needs You which was a British participant in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. However she walked out of the contest after only a few shows because she did not feel ready. In 2007 Ora made her debut music video when she sang on Craig David's track titled "Awkward" and again in 2008 with "Where's Your Love" featuring Tinchy Stryder, for which she also appears in the music video. Ora began to sing in bars throughout London. A few days later, Ora flew to New York to meet Jay-Z The A&R team informed Roc Nation about Ora. In 2009, Ora made a cameo on Jay-Z's video for "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Ora got the attention of Jay-Z and he shrewdly signed her to Roc Nation, in which she appeared in a commercial for Roc Nation + Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. The singer began her singing career in the same bar where her father, Besnik, was a pub owner. Gwen Stefani was her major influence.
