Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. When she was just four years old, she started in the industry by doing voice overs and commercial work. Private Parts was her first film. The Object of My Affection was her next film. She spent some time in Another World (1964), as Rain Wolfe, a child who was found in a park and was fostered by Josie. Sarah was able to collaborate with Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) many more times, including Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was a part of Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the Audrey Hepburns. The following year, she was cast in ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), featuring Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth, Joe Guld's Secret ((2000) and Falcone ((2000)). Sarah took classes in jazz tap, hip hop, Theatre Dance and voice. She also performed with her class in tap and Theatre at "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers. Sarah was born in New York and raised in New York. Her homeschooling was provided by her mother until 2nd grade, and then went to Public School. She was accepted to PPAS in 6th grade. This school is where she remained until her graduation in 2008. When Sarah turned 18 then she moved to Los Angeles, CA and, within two weeks, she had been able to land a plane named "My American Family". After being accepted as a pilot, the pilot's name changed into Modern Family (2009). Sarah currently portrays Haley Dunphy, the oldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) was nominated for the Emmy award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
