Milena Govich
Milena Govich is an actress as well as a
director and musician. She has helmed numerous episodes of TV such as Chicago
Med (2015) (211) and The Equalizer (221). She also was the Co-EP/Producing
Director on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI (2018), and has been tapped to direct
two pilots in development. Milena was among eight filmmakers chosen for AFI's
prestigious Directing Workshop for Women, as well as the only Sony Pictures
Television Diverse Directors Program. Unspeakable the short film she created,
and TV show proof of concept was shown at SXSW. The film also won Best Episodic
Award at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at the SoHo
International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017 written by Milena
Vandervoort) has been screened across the country. It won Best Narrative Short
at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The
Director's Choice Award was also given at Sedona International Film Festival.
Milena was an actor for more than 100 television shows. She first gained
national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the
prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis
Leary/FX). Conviction (2006) is the Dick Wolf series, was her second leading
character. This led to her being awarded the Emmy for best female detective in
Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It
or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori Stevens in the MTV drama Finding
Carter (2014) have all featured her or had her in. Milena has been in numerous
films which include Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) starring
alongside Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) which starred alongside
Method Man; as well as the role of #Lucky Number (2015). Milena is an Norman,
Oklahoma native. After graduating valedictorian from her high school and then
going further to get a double major in vocal performances and premed with
minors in dance and violin at the University of Central Oklahoma. She utilized
her ballet classical training soon after to make her Broadway debut in the Sam
Mendes/Rob Marshall production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
