Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke was born on 27 August 1976
in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Angie Chalke is her mother and Doug Chalke are her
father. Sarah is the middle child. She has one older sister, Natasha Chalke and
one younger sister, Piper Chalke. Sarah's debut as an actor was City Boy
(1992), an adaptation of a film for television. Following her first film was a
success, Sarah auditioned for the role "Becky" of Roseanne (1988).
The show was in search of a replacement for Alicia Goranson, who left the show to
pursue college. Sarah completed her high school graduation in 1995, during the
filming of the 1994-1995 seasons of Roseanne (1988). In 1994, Sarah co-starred
in the film Ernest Goes to School (1994) alongside Jim Varney. She was in Robin
of Locksley (1996) and Stand Against Fear(1996). In both films Sarah played the
role of Krista Wilson who was who was a cheerleader. In 1998, one year
following the time that Roseanne (1988) was finished, Sarah was asked to
perform in a show titled Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998). The show was
based off the TV movie of the same name which was called Nothing Too Good for a
Cowboy (1998) in which Sarah was also in. She was able to take over Becky's
(1988) role from Alicia Goranson. It was stated that she would like to quit
acting and enroll in college. [2001] (1993-1997) Was the as the older sister to
Sara Gilbert on Roseanne (1988) although she's more youthful in real life. She
attended the 1999 CCMA award ceremony and was awarded an award for the top
single of the year. [September 1999] At age 8 appeared in Vancouver theater
productions. She is fluent in French as well as German. She works at an
organization that provides care for terminally ill children. Chalke enjoys
cooking with friends (especially Thai or sushi) she also plays the guitar as
well as ski, hike (she's an instructor), and kayaking. Her father is a lawyer,
and both parents are mediators and run a child adoption agency. In the past she
went with her parents to China to oversee the adoption of orphans in China.
